ACREFI - Associação Nacional das Instituições de Crédito, Financiamento e Investimento – National Association of Credit, Financing and Investment was founded in 1958 with the aim of bringing together all organizations in the sector, to defend their interests, strengthen communication among associates and promote the development of their activities.

From the very beginning, the association has kept to those principles, always adapting to the constant change in the economic scenario in general and in financing in particular. On April 29 1993 ACREFI became a national association, congregating in its board of directors those business executives responsible for former regional associations.

Since the 1990's the profile of associates has changed as a result of the appearance of several new financial instituions. Nowadays, ACREFI has more than 65 associates, including institutions which have opted for participating exclusively in the consumer credit segment and those which have become Multiple Banks keeping a credit portfolio.

ACREFI is more and more the home of the consumer credit business and the place where this activity will always have priority, in spite of all the changes and the diversification which are constant in the economy and in the financial market.

Situated at Rua Líbero Badaró, 425 - 28th floor, in the financial center of São Paulo, ACREFI's head office has a total area of approximately 500m2, with an online computer center, auditorium which can accommodate up to 54 people, sound and projection facilities, cocktail lounge and support areas for the convenience of associates.
